HDC Discover can assist you in assessing your own practice in areas such as chronic disease management or medication prescribing. Using insights from your data results in a professionally satisfying practice and leads to improved patient outcomes.
Use HDC Discover to:
As a physician-led organization, privacy is central to HDC’s trusted health provider network. One top priority is preserving the trust of the physicians and other healthcare providers who choose to share their data with the HDC network. Use of HDC Discover is offered at no cost, thanks to the sponsorship of the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC).
Direct Integration
The HDC install a small computer device, known as an “endpoint” at the clinic to aggregate data. An export of the EMR data is captured on the endpoint and aggregated securely on this encrypted device. Only aggregated information is transmitted to HDC’s servers and made available through HDC Discover.

Privacy is a guiding principle at HDC and is built into our services, infrastructure, policies, and processes as necessary to further our mission and vision.
As a federally registered non-profit operating in British Columbia, HDC is subject to the Personal Information and Protection of Privacy Act (PIPA), which sets out rules for how private sector organizations collect, use and disclose personal information. HDC is committed to complying with PIPA and following the 10 internationally recognized Fair Information Principles, to ensure our controls align with best practices across Canada.
We build privacy into all aspects of our operations using the Privacy by Design Framework and have undertaken the internationally recognized Privacy by Design Certification as part of our commitment to protecting Privacy.

OSCAR Requirements
HDC is currently only available for self-hosted or local OSCAR users.
Browser Requirements
HDC Discover is a web based application, with Google Chrome being the recommended browser.
Installation Requirements
For the installation of the endpoint on your clinics network, please confirm there is space available to connect with your network and a power source. Installation will be performed by HDC in conjunction with your IT team.
